Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS)
30 years of FOS
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is renowned as the world's premier celebration of motorsport and car culture. Held in the picturesque surroundings of Goodwood Estate, this event offers an unparalleled experience for over 210,000 visitors who flock to the historic venue every year.
It provides an exceptional opportunity for car enthusiasts, corporate guests, and Formula 1 fans to get up close to iconic cars and legendary drivers while enjoying an atmosphere of speed and elegance.
The Challenge?
Logistics
This event is a vast operation that takes months to create. As we provide the majority of the hospitality, our team takes great care in designing the pavilions, creating the internal fitout in-house, and detailed scheduling to ensure we can work around other suppliers safely and efficiently.
The site
As the event is held on the Goodwood Estate, we must take additional care when building to ensure that the site is kept pristine.
Our solution?
In total, we provided nearly 10,000m2 of premium hospitality space, delivered turnkey and on schedule. This included Hill Pavilion, Gurney Pavilion, Brabham Pavilion, Moss Pavilion, Partners Lounge, GRRC Lounge, Porsche Café, Kinrara Enclosure, Future Lab and a brand activation for McMurtry.
In 2023, we built more hospitality here than ever before, which is set to grow for 2024.
Sustainable considerations
Sustainability is hugely important for both Losberger De Boer and Goodwood themselves. His Grace, The Duke of Richmond, made the below statement regarding their standing on sustainability.
"There is a whole thrust at Goodwood around sustainability – it has always been a major thing for us across the estate. We've got a huge organic farm, we've planted 75,000 trees, we run a whacking great biomass generator for all our electricity, and we're running biofuels for our generators at the events. So, could Goodwood deliver a carbon-neutral event? Absolutely, because we're doing so much on the other side."
Client Testimonial:
The Project Manager at Goodwood, Georgio Villa, gave the following feedback after working with Losberger De Boer on the 2023 Festival of Speed event.
"Goodwood is the biggest event of its kind in the world. The event production this year has been great. It's been nice and smooth. We've had good feedback in the planning stages, and everything's happened on time as it should.
Providing a space like this where people can come, relax and enjoy is essential. Being able to put on such a high-end structure for our guests is vitally important to give that wow factor and make their experience really special when they're coming to the festival.
Losberger De Boer has been great to work with. My main point of contact is Becky. She's been great, really approachable, really friendly, and no problem is ever too big for her. I know I can go to her with anything, and she's got a solution for me, which is great.
There's been a great demand for hospitality spaces at the festival this year, and the relationship between LDB and Goodwood is extremely important because we have multiple structures here in the most important areas of the event.
Gurney Pavilion, for example, which is two stories this year, provides the hospitality space for Aston Martin and Ferrari. The Ferrari balcony is the best spot on the track, and a lucky few get to spend their weekend up in that spot, having a great experience.
I would definitely recommend LDB to other event planners out there. They've been so easy to work with, no problems too big for them, which is incredibly important because at Goodwood, we strive for perfection, and we have a very high-end clientele. People pay lots of money to be here and be in these fabulous venues, and they expect the best of everything."
We are hugely proud of our involvement at Goodwood over the past three decades, and we look forward very much to getting back on-site to build FOS 2024.
