The European Political Community (EPC) Summit at Blenheim Palace
In 2024, we partnered with Identity to deliver the European Political Community Summit at Blenheim Palace, creating over 10,000m² of temporary venue space to host 46 European leaders at this historic site.
Transforming a historic landmark into a world-class summit venue
In 2024, working alongside our agency partner Identity, we delivered the fourth European Political Community Summit at Blenheim Palace, where 46 European leaders gathered at this world heritage site to discuss pressing matters affecting the continent.
The summit embodied both grandeur and diplomacy, featuring a Royal Reception hosted by King Charles III and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The Challenge
Hosting an event of this scale at Blenheim Palace during the busy summer months presented some challenges.
Restricted Access
The palace remained open to the public during the build, requiring our teams to navigate restricted build times and shared access with other ongoing events.
Sustainability Goals
Sustainability was a key focus for us, as well as for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Identity, and Blenheim Palace. Achieving ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Standard Certification.
The Solution
Together with Identity, we delivered 10,000 m2 of temporary venue space, transforming Blenheim Palace into a world-class summit venue.
Sustainability initiatives
Sustainability was at the core of this event and a priority for our team, Identity, the FCDO and Blenheim Palace.
- Leveraging existing Blenheim Palace furniture and hired pieces to reduce resource consumption.
- Any purpose-built items were designated for reuse at future events, donated to local organisations, or gifted to the palace as a legacy.
The outcome - A benchmark for future government events
Trevor Smith, Technical Director of Site Infrastructure at Identity, left our team the following testimonial;
“Once again you made the impossible possible and gave us an environment at Blenheim Palace fit for a King, who did eventually turn up!
The feedback from our client and many attendees of the event was the best I have seen and the FCDO are talking of this being the benchmark for future UK international summits.
Your team were a constant presence on site, and we always felt supported by you and that you had our best interests at heart.
The structures looked great and, where we had issues, your team were always there to resolve them. A very big thank you to all, you should be very proud of what you and the onsite team achieved.”
